Environmental quality
The environmental quality is one of the main aspects that determines the quality of life of the people and the degree of sustainability that the productive processes have per se and its purpose is to determine the impact of the anthropic activities on the environment or the level of sustainability Of the same. In order to assess environmental quality, a series of qualitative and / or quantitative methodologies and indicators have been developed to measure the level of intervention and impact of anthropic activities on the environment in general or on a particular environment. These instruments or tools are methodological and / or legal proposals that address both general and specific issues, which will generate actions, such as protecting and regulating resources such as air, water, soil and biodiversity. Some of these instruments include: land-use planning and environmental assessment (including the Environmental Impact Assessment of Projects, the Strategic Environmental Assessment of Plans and Programs and the Assessment of Cumulative Effects). It also forms part of these instruments, the environmental regulatory framework that includes the policies, laws, decrees or guidelines in the particular case of the legislation of the countries.
